Tasked with creating a tabletop collection representing Chef Rick Stein and his connection to Cornwall, the concept drew from one of the region’s defining features: its dramatic coastline. Coves of Cornwall explored coves and bays linked to Rick Stein’s restaurants and story, translating each location into watercolour illustrations inspired by maps of the Cornish coast. Applied across a collection of ceramics, the concept created a direct connection between place and product with each piece representing a different stretch of coastline. The proposal won the student competition and continues to be sold in retail stores today.
